02.11.2009 - New Infant and Child Woollen Coffin range

Due to the fantastic response received over the Hainsworth woollen coffins since their high profile launch at this year's National Funeral Exhibition, Hainsworth Coffins and their UK partner JC Atkinson have launched a brand new Infant and Child Coffin range.
Since the first enquiry for a child’s woollen coffin from a Funeral Director in Darlington earlier this year, Hainsworth have been working extensively at their woolen textile mill in Leeds to extend the range and meet a sensitive demand. Attractive new brochures, complete with sample material swatches, have been produced to cover the entire range and a Free promotional pack can be obtained from JC Atkinson, by telephoning 0191 415 1516.
Having just returned from successfully promoting the new range at the NFDA Exhibition and Convention in Boston, USA, Hainsworth Sales Director Rachel Hainsworth said:
“Hainsworth have delivered quality in textiles since 1783 including the Royal Guards uniforms outside Buckingham Palace, but we wanted JC Atkinson’s experience and specialist knowledge in developing the Hainsworth Coffins Natural Legacy range. Hand made, using pure new British wool, the coffins are attractive, warm and comforting and it was a natural progression to extend the range to include children’s coffins.”
The new Infant and Child Coffins come in a wide range of sizes, each complete with a fully fitted organic cotton bottom sheet, frill, waterproof biodegradable lining and stuffed pillow. All are individually wrapped in biodegradable plastic and meet the strict environmental standards both companies pride themselves on.
JC Atkinson’s MD Julian Atkinson commented: “The woollen coffin has been very well received by our customers. Not only are they visually appealing, but the coffins have been independently tested for strength and for suitability for cremation and we are pleased to say the results for both compared very favorably to that of a wood coffin and complied to local authority (EPA) standards.”
